Seeking to respond to the needs of the visually impaired community, plants whose morpho-anatomical features make them easily noticeable not only to the eye, are showcased on a surface of approximately 150 m², next to the Japanese garden.

These plants secrete ethereal oils, their odour being easily detected by the olfactory sense, while other plants have a particular leaf or flower shape that can be explored by touch. The lavender, lemon balm, rosemary, petunia, lovage, lemon verbena, etc. create a scented atmosphere and bring closer (from an olfactory and tactile point of view) the world of plants to those for whom these senses are very well developed.

Information (scientific name, origin, economic and/or medicinal relevance) for each species is also printed in Braille.

Access for visitors with visual impairments, from the entrance of the Botanical Garden to the sector, is facilitated by the Step-Hear app, available for download from Google Play and the App Store. In addition, a tactile map of the Botanical Garden is available on the left-hand side at the entrance.
